The Cry of the Heart  †

Have You Heard the Good News?

The good news is that God loves you.  He is not mad at you.  Many people picture God as a big ogre up in the sky, ready to reach down at any moment and "bop them over the head" with some big catastrophe.  That is not God.  My God is a good God, and He loves us so much that when mankind walked away from Him, He already had a plan made to restore us to Himself.

It is not enough to be a good person.  How many good things do you need to do in order to get into heaven?  The Bible says that "all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God."

Some people say that they go to church, but they still don't know if are going to heaven or not.  Just because you go into a garage, to fix your car, it does not mean that you are a mechanic.  Just because you go into church, it does not mean that you are going to Heaven.

You have to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and receive the gift of eternal life.

The Bible says that "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God."

** It is important to note that this was written to believers, but they did not know that they were going to heaven.  So how do we know for sure?  How does anyone know "for sure?"

Do you believe in Jesus?

It says in the Bible "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  It also says "For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."

If you have never made Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life, or you are not sure in your heart that you are going to heaven, I would like to invite you right now to pray a short prayer with me, and according to the Word of God, if you mean this prayer, you will go to heaven.  I will ask you to pray it out loud, because, that is what confession is...an audible profession of your faith out of your mouth.

Prayer:

God in heaven, I come to you right now, and I confess that I have not lived my life for you.  I would like to change that.  I ask you to forgive me of all of my sins, and make me clean in your sight.  I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for me, and You raised Him from the dead.  Jesus, I open my heart, and invite you to come in.  Make yourself real to me.  Keep me from evil, and make me the person that you want me to be.  I ask you to be my Lord, and be my Savior.  I love you, Lord.  Thank You for saving me.

There is one more thing that I would ask you to do.  That is to tell somebody.  Please send me an e-mail and tell me what God has done in your life.

Then, find a good Bible believing church, and get involved there.  Read the Bible every day, and pray.  God has a plan and a purpose for your life, and in order to find out what that purpose is, you need to seek Him for direction and guidance daily.
